Ode to a strawberry…

Perfect fruit

Red, ripe, delicious

Grocery store delight

Red juices dripping down cheeks

Children delight in more

Whole, cut up, sprinkled with sugar

Making jam, a messy kitchen

On toast the strawberry takes a another form

Childhood memories

Growing in the garden, edible anywhere

Strawberry, you are the perfect fruit

The colour of love, blood, rosy cheeked children

Stains of living found on the couch

Natures gift, an offering, provision of loving care
